NetGalley is an innovative online service connecting authors and publishers with 100,000+ contacts, including book reviewers, media, librarians, booksellers, bloggers, and educators. Service includes uploading the digital version(s) of the title and offering it for potential reviews. Authors receive weekly updates on interest and links to any reviews.
This is a combination of the NetGalley service along with an hour consultation with a book publicist to review pitching angles and provide tips on self-promotion—including setting up book signing events, interacting with local libraries, connecting with readers on social media book platforms, and offering the book to book clubs. Author also receives guide with details on information.
The Amazon Optimization and Amazon Top Reviewer services are designed to attract readers to your profile on Amazon and entice top Amazon reviewers in your genre to complete and post reviews to your Amazon page(s). With these two programs, you will be working with experts who will learn the ins and outs of you and your project, and then guide you through the process of putting your book in a position to attract the largest audience possible. You can choose one or both services. Ideally, they should be done as soon as your book is listed on Amazon and your e-book is available for reviewers to read.
Your Amazon Optimization Consultant will:
• work with you to create key words or “Tags” to increase searchability,
• direct numerous people on their team to your book with these key words to continue to drive up the searchability of your book,
• link your book to other best selling books in your genre so that when a browser looks for a best selling author in your category, they have a better chance of finding your book
• create an in-depth book description and author bio for Amazon’s main book page, plus a separate author page augmented with links to your “assets,” such as your book trailer, website, social media, and update ongoing press clippings
• provide “Search Inside” uploads, if needed.
Your Amazon reviewer consultant will present your book or e-book to the top Amazon.com reviewers in your genre to post reviews on your page. These top reviewers have thousands of followers and a review from them drives traffic to your book page. A review from a top reviewer is not easy to get, but this team works with these influential groups every day and presents your book in a timely and cost-effective manner.
This service is designed for fiction books as an initial media outreach by a book publicist using a professionally written, author approved press release to reach out to magazine, newspaper, and online outlets/bloggers interested in the genre of the book—including the author’s local media—with the author following up and scheduling all opportunities. At the end of this three-week service, the publicist holds a consultation call to help the author continue publicity efforts. Options to continue are then based on media feedback.
This service is designed for non-fiction books as an initial media outreach by a book publicist using a professionally written, author-approved press release to pitch out to radio, television, magazine, newspaper, and online outlets—including the author’s local media—interested in the topic of the book/ebook and the author’s area of expertise, with the author following up and scheduling all opportunities. At the end of this three-week service, the publicist holds a consultation call to coach the author on continued efforts. Options to continue are then based on media feedback.
One Month or Six Week campaign options
This service focuses on reaching print and online media interested in books, with a special emphasis on book bloggers within a book’s specific genre—i.e., science fiction, romance, thriller, or mystery, among others. The book is also placed on NetGalley and sent out to media, including the arrangement of all media opportunities. Authors receive written weekly updates and at the end a list of media contacts interested in their book in order to continue publicity efforts. Options to continue are then based on media feedback.
With the six-week option, the publicist works with the author to set up a blog tour, local book signings, and coaches them on building a presence in their local library, book clubs, and on book/reader social media platforms.
Six-week to Three-Month campaign options
While novels are candidates for this service based on the author’s goals and background, non-fiction titles are best suited for “full” six-week or three-month comprehensive campaigns. The goal is to use the media as a vehicle to create awareness about an author and book, to establish recognition as an author, spark book sales, and open doors for new opportunities. The goal may also include building an author’s name as an expert in their field and attracting new business opportunities—essentially using their book/ebook as a business card or branding tool. The publicity team does this by reaching out not just to book interest media but also to a combination of general interest media and highly targeted media interested in the author and book’s area of interest/expertise. The publicist creates press material for the author’s approval and pitches author and book to local, regional, and national print (magazine and newspaper), broadcast (radio and television), and online (e-zines, blogs, websites, etc.) outlets in the U.S. and Canada. The goal is to secure media placements, including book reviews/listings, interviews, feature stories, expert commentary, blog postings, articles, byline articles, and/or op-ed pieces. All media relations are handled by the publicity team. Author receives written weekly updates, and at the end a list of media contacts interested in the book in order to continue publicity efforts. Options to continue are then based on media feedback.
