Profile: AlienSkin Magazine offers genre writers a free mix of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror stories, articles, contests, and writing tips. Their site includes Featured Fiction as well as Flash Fiction.

Publication Needs: Publishes science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories. Issues are launched near the first of each month. Stories should not include excessive violence, vulgarity, or erotica. Currently accepting 6 - 9 Featured Fiction pieces per issue and 10 - 13 Flash Fiction pieces.

Story Length: 3,500 words (max) for Featured Fiction and 500 - 1,000 words (max) for Flash Fiction.

Rights Purchased: AlienSkin requires First Electronic Rights.

Payment Terms: AlienSkin offers 1/2 cent per word ($.005) for Featured Fiction and a flat rate of $5.00 per story for Flash Fiction. Payment is made upon publication.

Submission Guidelines: AlienSkin accepts e-mail submissions only. Submissions should be copied and pasted into the body of an e-mail message. No simultaneous submissions, no reprints, and no serialized stories. Authors should limit their submissions to two total per author per month. AlienSkin will offer a small critique of rejected works; however, authors may request a form letter response if they would prefer to forego receiving commentary on their work. Please read the submission guidelines for AlienSkin prior to submitting work.

Response Time: Response time on submissions is one month.
