Book Design and Layout

While many authors feel confident that they have successfully formatted their work for print, a professional layout may contain design elements or formatting standards that are unfamiliar or difficult to produce. Common file errors may include missing screen and printer fonts; poor image resolution; incorrect page or trim size; margin inconsistencies; gutters set to the exterior; inconsistent styles, page setup, or line spacing; missing or manually set page numbers; text or images outside of the print margin; gaps in text or header spacing; or an overall composition that does not match the quality of traditional publications.

The Solution
We offer a number of professional interior design and layout options for authors choosing to self-publish and for those working with print-on-demand publishers or printers. Our composition is not template-based, so we will format each manuscript individually, with your content in mind. Authors may choose from standard to highly customized designs at a range of prices.

Free Sample Layout
Authors may request a free custom sample format and quote (this includes a printer-ready PDF) and an initial consultation with a designer. Our free sample layout allows you to review professional design choices or request revisions to the basic layout before making a final decision or finalizing your project details. Formatting quotes will include total job fee, turnaround, and possible start dates. If you are already working with a publisher or printer, we will work within their specific layout guidelines. Add fully customizable elements to our Standard Select professional layout. Includes up to 50 images/tables; placement for lettered/numbered lists and graphics; two free layout revision sets; and post-format consultations with a designer, if needed.
