Free Sample Format

Authors may request a free custom sample format and quote (this includes a printer-ready PDF) and an initial consultation with a designer. Our free sample layout allows you to review professional design choices or request revisions to the basic layout before making a final decision or finalizing your project details. Formatting quotes will include total job fee, turnaround, and possible start dates. If you are already working with a publisher or printer, we will work within their specific layout guidelines. (There is no obligation to purchase a service.)

Each sample will consist of front matter and at least 10 - 15 pages (or one chapter) of the work. If your manuscript contains images, tables, or list elements, we may request to see sample pages or images to provide you with a more accurate quote and layout.

In addition to sample pages, we will request the following information:

Your name
Contact information
Book title
The formatting service you are requesting
Trim size
The number of pages, words, and chapters in your manuscript
The number of images and/or tables in your manuscript
Additional special elements such as poems, bulleted/numbered lists, indented text, subheadings, or scene breaks
Publishing and referral information

To simplify this process, we have created a Sample Format Request Form where you may enter this information, request customized elements based on your chosen service type, and submit a sample of your manuscript for a same-day response during regular business hours. There is no fee for this sample, but in the event that your work does not qualify for this free service, we will notify you as soon as possible. If you receive a message that submissions have been temporarily suspended due to our waiting list for services, we encourage you to check back with us, as these are normally short-term closures.
