Stephanee Killen - Senior Editor and Owner of integrative ink

Stephanee Killen worked as a freelance proofreader for The Ballantine Publishing Group*, a division of Random House, Inc., before joining the e-publishing revolution as a web editor for a prominent e-publishing company.

Surprised by the e-publishing industry's lack of focus on content quality, she formed integrative ink with the intent of helping authors through the sometimes complicated and frustrating process of preparing their work for publication.

While acknowledging and supporting the beginning author's desire for professional assistance, she also works to supply them with the confidence and tools necessary to proceed once their book is ready for production. By offering authors the opportunity to work closely with an editor, and enabling them to develop an understanding of the process as a whole, services can be customized to fit specific needs and budgets. This includes encouraging the use of new technology, formatting, and marketing methods to meet publishing goals.

As an editor, but more importantly, as a writer herself, Stephanee understands the excitement, trepidation, and hard work that shape the enterprise of writing. This passion for the arts and for the creative process is what fuels her in exploring and developing new services, opportunities, and resources for writers. She hopes to continue to create a community where writers can share ideas, information, and their love of expression.

Additional experience in the industry includes freelance work for the National Educational Service and F&W Publications; website design; graphic layout; formatting for print and e-books; and manuscript content and production consultations.

As Senior Editor and owner of integrative ink, she has worked directly with the following publishers/printers: Authorhouse, Infinity Publishing, iUniverse, Lightning Source, Lulu Press, Outskirts Press, Publish America, and Xlibris. Stephanee specializes in comprehensive copyediting and interior book design.

(*Ballantine titles include A Certain Smile by Judith Michael; Do Unto Others by Kristine Lattany; Ghost of the Well of Souls by Jack L. Chalker; and The Sea is Full of Stars, also by Jack L. Chalker.)
